Aus wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Sicht können die Massnahmen des staatlich subventionierten Wohnbaus die politisch erklärten Ziele langfristig nicht erfüllen. Die staatliche Subventionierung führt nämlich lediglich dazu, dass das Angebot an Wohnraum sich mit der Zeit drastisch reduziert, und zwar in qualitativer und quantitativer Hinsicht. Dies führt zu enormen Wohlfahrtsverlusten. Sinnvoll hingegen ist ein Bürokratie- und Regulierungsabbau, um den Bau von Wohnung im Allgemeinen zu fördern.

Die Sanierung der Altersvorsorge ist ein dringendes Anliegen, das vor allem für die jüngeren Generationen zeitnah anzupacken ist. Die Altersvorsorge wurde 1948 eingeführt, als die mittlere Lebenserwartung nach der Pensionierung nur 13 Jahre betrug. Heute liegt die mittlere Lebenserwartung bereits bei 21 Jahren. Die Erhöhung des Rentenalters berücksichtigt die weiter ansteigende Lebenserwartung und stellt eine folgerichtige, effektive Massnahme zur nachhaltigen Sanierung der Altersvorsorge dar.
