smartvote is an online voting aid or voting advice application (VAA) developed and operated by Politools, a non-profit and politically neutral association under Art. 60ff. of the Swiss Civil Code (ZGB) based in Bern. In collaboration with numerous partners, Politools is involved in the areas of civic education, political analysis and political participation (civic tech).

Political neutrality, transparency and independent financing

Politools is a politically neutral association. The projects supported by Politools, such as the online voting aid smartvote, are also committed to strict political neutrality. This includes a commitment by the association and its projects to the greatest possible transparency and independence with regard to their financing.

All content, data, design, structure and source code of smartvote are protected by copyright. Modification of the content, linking or use for commercial or public purposes (in particular integration into other websites or publication in print and online media) requires the express prior consent of the operator. Without the express consent and the required source reference (‘www.smartvote.ch’ or ‘smartvote.ch’), the aforementioned actions constitute a violation of Swiss copyright law (URG).
