It's important to give the baby time to recover in its mother's arms. Most women who return to work after less than 6 months of childbirth suffer from post-natal depression. Worse still is the case for prematurely born children, whose mothers spend sleepless nights as a result - in what condition will they go back to work? As for the two parents, it would be reasonable to think of a more flexible division of labour between them.
