La croissance économique comme un objectif en soi est idéologique. Cet objectif est déraciné de l'environnement dans lequel il s'inscrit et des activités auxquelles il se réfère. On devrait se demander quel type d'économie on souhaite voir croître; et quelle économie on souhaite voir décroître. On devrait tenir compte d'autres indicateurs pour évaluer la bonne santé de nos société. Viser "la croissance économique" sans ces distinctions, dans un monde qui se dégrade, c'est intenable.
