In den ersten 2-3 Jahren gibt es Gründe, das Kind zu Hause (egal durch wen) zu betreuen, wenn dies möglich ist (Bindungstheorie). Bei guten Einrichtungen mit gut ausgebildetem Personal und guten Betreuungsschlüssel sind jedoch keine Nachteile zu erwarten - wenn sich Eltern (Mütter und/oder Väter) ansonsten kümmern und eine sichere Bindung ermöglichen.
