Technology openness is a liberal principle, which is why a legal ban on new construction is disturbing. Under certain conditions, new power plants (e.g. at the current locations) should be allowed to be built. The alternative, the new construction of gas-fired power plants, is not an option for climate policy reasons and gives itself into the dependence of autocrats. The massive expansion of renewable energies is indispensable, but will hardly be achieved due to the blockades of left-green environmental associations.
